visual media

A collection of visual media produced and creative directed by me.

DEMONS

This video is special to me because it was 1 out of 2 of the only creative projects that I created at the in 2023, a difficult but important year. When I heard the song Demons by Doja Cat, it kind of felt like being lit on fire in the best way and all I wanted to do was dance and choreograph to it. After a year of doing mostly nothing this feeling was extremely welcomed. The energy and cadence of the lyrics felt invigorating and resonated with me. My personal interpretation of the song was to be an iconoclast and pursue whatever makes you thrive and own in it, no matter the feedback. I wanted to create a visual that harnessed this energy that felt sexy and slightly sinister. I also thought to use the visual as an opportunity to showcase two new catsuit designs that would contribute to the feel and aesthetic of the video, and used the video promotionally to launch my online store making the catsuits featured in the video available for sale.

DESCENT

Descent is about a being who falls into a portal into another world full of hedonistic endeavours. The introduction of this film shows a being sitting in front of a body of water (the portal) smoking a cigarette. They have just emerged from this alternate world to take a break before re entering, and all the visuals that follow is a depiction of them recharging to step back into a world full of opulent self indulging activities. The being harnesses their sexual prowess while simultaneously challenging the viewer to embrace their own, and viewers, I encourage you to indeed think upon your own guilty pleasures after watching this video.

This short fashion film acts as the introduction to a larger production to come.

A MOMENT IN TIME

The pandemic struck during my final year in fashion school, resulting in the semester being altered with many opportunities and experiences unable to take place. This left myself and many of my peers feeling disappointed and lost with no real end goal in sight during a time of complete ambiguity. Many of my friends questioned their role in fashion with many small business brands filling for bankruptcy while corporations thrived, all the while trying to secure a job during such an unstable time. During this time I found myself reflecting back on why I became interested in fashion, and reconnecting with artistry, craftsmanship and moments in fashion history that inspired me. In hopes of uplifting spirits, I decided to create a documentary where I asked local Toronto designers to share their stories and reasons for pursuing a career in fashion. This documentary is a collection of stories from both young and experienced designers who reflect on moments in their life that brought them to where they are today.
