This is a page dedicated to what I refer to as my skull croquis, or skull babies. The imagery of skulls makes me feel both invincible and inconsequential. Momento mori, as well as a reminder that no matter how different we may be as people we all have the same skeletal composition beneath our flesh. The naked female form: as a woman, I love my body and think the female form is beautiful and I’ve always loved drawing our curves and dips and the lines that hold us together. That’s it :) The shoes are indeed Rick Owens’ Kiss Boots, an homage of sorts to one of my favourite designers and to the shoes that I say are the only things that didn’t come with me out the womb. To me my skull croquis remind me to not give a fuck, to not take life too seriously and to pursue whatever will feed my spirit, because in the end, what does it all matter.

Drew some skull babies in various poses to be embroidered onto a leather blazer from By the Namesake. Couldn’t embroider the actual skulls unfortunately as the embroidery method I used wouldn’t have produced clear and clean results, so I decided to just create the bodies.
